Impact of Rumen Fluid Storage on In Vitro Feed Fermentation Characteristics

چکیده

Storing rumen fluid (RF) has the potential to standardize subsequent in vitro feed fermentation studies. The first phase of this experiment aimed evaluate effect two RF storage methods on gas composition and dry matter disappearance (DMD) wheat grain lucerne hay under fermentation. were as follows: (1) snap-freezing using liquid nitrogen then storing it at −80 °C (−80 °C); (2) mixing with 5% dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO), subsequently freezing −20 (D−20 °C), comparing fresh days 1, 14, 30 post collection. objective second was quantify impact preserving for 180 D−20 parameters. methane lower (p < 0.001) both preserved RFs than RF. There no difference 0.05) DMD values between 14 30. average cumulative production from stored higher that °C. Moreover, there day total lag time when fermenting Therefore, is preferable access limited.

Effects of Defaunation on Fermentation Characteristics and Methane Production by Rumen Microbes In vitro When Incubated with Starchy Feed Sources

An in vitro experiment was conducted to examine the effects of defaunation (removal of protozoa) on ruminal fermentation characteristics, CH4 production and degradation by rumen microbes when incubated with cereal grains (corn, wheat and rye). Sodium lauryl sulfate as a defaunation reagent was added into the culture solution at a concentration of 0.000375 g/ml, and incubated anaerobically for u...

Use of Lysozyme as a Feed Additive on In vitro Rumen Fermentation and Methane Emission

This study was conducted to determine the effect of lysozyme addition on in vitro rumen fermentation and to identify the lysozyme inclusion rate for abating methane (CH4) production. An in vitro ruminal fermentation technique was done using a commercial concentrate to rice straw ratio of 8:2 as substrate. The following treatments were applied wherein lysozyme was added into 1 mg dry matter subs...
